Aims of Module
To develop the student's ability to integrate and apply the required knowledge and skills of a specialist community public health nurse in a variety of settings and with diverse social groups.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Assess the health and social needs and risk factors for clients and social groups reviewing the tools and processes involved.
2 Apply strategies and skills to improve health and address care needs, vulnerability and inequalities.
3 Collaborate and co-operate within an inter-disciplinary and multi-agency team using effective communication skills.
4 Examine their developing knowledge, skills and values in contemporary public health nursing.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
This module is essential for the SCPHN - Health Visiting/ School Nurse route of the BSc(Hons) Public Health Nursing course. A minimum of 10 weeks whole time equivalent will be spent in practice.
