Aims of Module
This module aims to provide the student with the opportunity to conduct an in-depth investigation into a specific area of practice or professional interest.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Utilise a range of academic and resource finding skills to search for and source relevant literature, theories, data or evidence for an agreed clinical topic.
2 Critically interpret and synthesise important findings relating to the clinical topic studied.
3 Draw meaningful and informative conclusions with emergent recommendations for further research, development of theory, policy or clinical practice.
4 Produce a piece of independent writing in the form of a practice focused journal article OR an evidence based practice project.

Indicative Module Content
Critical and analytical skills; Critical/systematic literature review; Project planning; Oral presentation; Time management; Project/report writing. Students will work independently with regular tutorial support and supervision (evidenced in a learning/meeting log), to prepare the project.
