Aims of Module
To enable the student to develop the application of theoretical knowledge and skills into the practice environment in accordance with HCPC standards with an emphasis on developing paramedic practice in remote and hazardous environment.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Effectively demonstrate assessment and patient management pertinent to remote and hazardous environment paramedic practice with an emphasis on using emerging evidence.
2 Demonstrate effective planning and safe and appropriate care delivery pertinent to remote and hazardous paramedic practice with an emphasis on using emerging evidence.
3 Justify personal and professional development pertinent to remote and hazardous environment paramedic practice with an emphasis on using emerging evidence.
4 Critical reflect on area of paramedic practice that will be the focus of your practice project.
5 Relate sources of emerging evidence to your chosen area of remote and hazardous environment paramedic practice project.

Indicative Module Content
Critical and analytical skill: critical/systematic literature review; project planning; oral presentation; time management; project/report writing. Students will work independently, with regular tutorial support and supervision (evidenced in a learning/meeting log) to gather evidence for their project.
