Aims of Module | |||

To enable the student to develop the application of theoretical knowledge and skills into the practice environment in accordance with HCPC standards with an emphasis on disaster management, leadership and decision-making, in a remote and hazardous environment. |

Practice focused on clinical assessment, interventions and management of a range of conditions induced by extremes of temperature, pressure, environmental disasters, entrapment, epidemic, distance from definitive care; principles of incident and disaster management; practical leadership and team working; decision making models, gathering evidence, clinical reasoning and ethics of decision making, critical thinking, note taking, report writing; accountability, autonomy, legal and ethical issues, delegation, prioritisation, clinical governance, risk assessment, change management, clinical and operational management; performance review using simulated scenarios. |
