On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Explore professional and legal issues relating to the role of the healthcare professional managing minor injuries. |
2 | Explain the pathophysiology of minor injuries. |
3 | Appraise the skills required in consultation, history taking and assessment of individuals presenting with minor injuries. |
4 | Examine the decision making processes involved in the diagnosis and treatment of minor injuries. |
5 | Analyse the evidence base underpinning the management of minor injuries. |

History taking and consultation; Assessment; Anatomy and physiology relating to commonly presenting minor injuries; Triage; Simulated practice; Clinical reasoning; Decision making; Wound management; Radiography; Telemedicine; Evidence based practice; Protocols; Professional and legal issues. |
