Aims of Module

To provide international student nurses and midwives with a professional practice learning experience in Scottish healthcare organisations in line with performance expectations for SCQF level 9 so that it is professional, safe and person-centred.

Learning Outcomes for Module

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

1. Demonstrate achievement of the practice competencies at SCQF level 9 as specified within the practice learning and assessment documentation.

Practice learning in a variety of settings; content directed from identified student learning needs and goal directed action planning taking account of competencies specific within the practice learning and assessment documentation.

International student nurses and midwives will undertake practice learning as specified within the learning agreement developed for their ERASMUS Exchange Programme.
The ERASMUS Exchange Programme is 13 weeks in duration and can include a cultural experience opportunity for a maximum period of up to one week.
1 ECTS credit = 25 hours of work; 13 weeks exchange = 13 x 37.5 = 488 hours; 488 hours/25 = 20 ECTS.
