Aims of Module
To facilitate the student to review personal and professional development and academic skills within the context of their practice.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Critically reflect on professional learning in their career to date.
2 Analyse personal and professional objectives in relation to current service needs and sign up to a learning agreement.
3 Discuss the personal and professional skills required to achieve a personal and professional development plan.
4 Examine types of evidence used to justify decisions and professional judgments in healthcare.
5 Critically discuss the factors that influence being a professional in the context of current healthcare.

MODULE PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTOR
Explanatory Text
A 3000 word portfolio of evidence, including the following: 1) A SWOT Analysis Summary as you embark on the BSc Healthcare Practice, supported by current evidence. 2) A Learning Contract that identifies your specific learning objectives for undertaking this module, incorporating discussion on how this links to your professional role. 3) A Critical Reflection of your professional learning in your career to date, supported by contemporary evidence whilst using a recognised model of reflection. 4) Professional Judgements: A critical discussion of key areas within your current professional healthcare practice where you make daily professional judgements. 5) Professional Revalidation Reflection: A critical reflection on completion of the module, including a personal and professional analysis of how completion of this module can be linked to being a professional in the context of current healthcare. This will be assessed on a pass/unsuccessful, ie. fail basis.
