Aims of Module
To enable the student to meet the HCPC competencies with indirect supervision for paramedic registration.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Critically reflect on your own learning and continual professional development, including the learning of others.
2 Demonstrate achievement of the HCPC standards of proficiency outcomes and standards of conduct, performance and ethics, as identified within the Practice Assessment Documentation (PAD), to meet progression criteria for entry to Practice.
3 Evaluate professional attitudes and values across a range of practice learning environments taking cognizance of shared ethical and professional values within uni-professional and interprofessional teams.
4 Lead and co-ordinate care with indirect supervision from Practice Educator(s).
5 Safely demonstrate a range of communication, relationship management skills and Paramedic procedures in a compassionate, evidence-based and person-centred manner.

Indicative Module Content
Preparation for practice; Meeting the standards of proficiency set by the HCPC: Practice safely, lawfully and effectively within their scope of practice; Inter-professional team working; Assessing, treating, and caring for individual across the lifespan; Meeting the HCPC standards of conduct, performance and ethics.

Module Delivery
Practice Learning Experiences in a variety of ambulance, health and social care environments that meet the Quality Standards for Practice Placements (NES 2008).

MODULE PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTOR
Explanatory Text
Practice Assessment Document (PAD) assessed on a pass/fail basis by the Practice Assessor and Academic Assessor. The module is split into practice learning experiences.
Module Grade Minimum Requirements to achieve Module Grade:
Pass Pass grade awarded for final practice learning experience.
Fail Fail awarded for final practice learning experience.
NS Non-submission of work by published deadline or non-attendance for examination

Prerequisites for Module Evidence of achievement of the mandatory health and safety requirements as defined by the School and practice partners.
Corequisites for module None.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
This is a paramedic practice learning module carried out over 20 weeks at 37.5 hours a week. An overall minimum of 50% attendance for ambulance and non ambulance is required for the year with normally a minimum of 2250hrs made up across the course to progress to registration. To pass stage three and module NU3404 the following minimum attainment is required: 100% of the SOPS and 100% of the skills at the Independent Level; a pass grade in each PLE; and 100% of the Standards of conduct, performance and ethics.
