Aims of Module
To facilitate students to effectively and ethically deliver therapeutic interactions and relationship-based care and support.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Evidence a psychotherapeutic approach within interactions.
2 Demonstrate the effective use of interpersonal skills and techniques that enable exploration of individuals' experiences, perspectives and achieve purposeful outcomes.
3 Utilise the trauma informed knowledge and skills framework judiciously.
4 Reflect on therapeutic use of self by using a systematic approach.
5 Evidence the underpinning professional requirement for teaching and practice supervision.

Indicative Module Content
Psychological and psychosocial approaches, inter and intra-personal skills, therapeutic relationship process, complexity, therapeutic models, psychotherapeutic role, core conditions, therapeutic use of self, reflective practice, self-care, clinical supervision, narrative competence, trauma skilled capability, spirituality. Teaching and learning, practice supervision, NMC education standards. Preparation for Practice Learning.

Module Delivery
A blended approach will be utilised emphasising facilitated experiential individual and group learning; simulated skills practice; reflective analysis and discussions; tutorials, online learning.
