To enable the student to value and evaluate the midwife's role as a professional and sensitive carer, meeting women’s individualised needs within challenging contemporary contexts. |
Learning Outcomes for Module | |

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Analyse the midwife's professional role, responsibility and autonomy as a member of the maternity care team providing care for women with a range of contemporary needs. |
2 | Appraise the provision of midwifery care within contemporary societies and contexts, using national and/or international examples. |
3 | Assess the impact of sensitive midwifery care on the support for women as individuals with particular needs within contemporary society. |
