To enable the students to appraise relevant evidence and make appropriate clinical decisions responding promptly to additional care needs of women and newborn infants. |

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Appraise current public health policies to improve health for women and newborn infants with additional care needs. |
2 | Apply innovation and evidence-based principles to improve the health of women and newborn infants with additional care needs. |
3 | Analyse interdisciplinary care to support women and newborn infants with additional care needs ensuring continuity of care. |
4 | Demonstrate evidence informed midwifery skills to respond promptly to signs of compromise and deterioration in the woman, fetus, and newborn infant. |
