Aims of Module
To enable the student to critically analyse the development of professional nursing practice within their specialist area.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Analyse the evidence and policies underpinning professional nursing practice, encompassing regulatory, legal and credentialing requirements.
2 Critically explore an area of quality improvement in relation to an identified area of nursing practice.
3 Critically discuss the factors that impact on contemporary nursing care.
4 Examine how technology and contemporary health communication systems can influence professional nursing practice.
5 Critically reflect on how strategic, cultural and organisational challenges can impact practice development in nursing.
