Aims of Module | |||

To enable the student to develop the application of theoretical knowledge and skills into the practice environment in accordance with HCPC standards; with an emphasis on trauma, obstetric, gynaecological and paediatric emergencies. |

Indicative Module Content |
---|
Practice placement focusing on trauma care; experience in pregnancy; normal pregnancy and labour; assessment of the pregnant woman; abnormalities in pregnancy and labour; resuscitation in pregnancy and the new-born; paediatric patient assessment; non-accidental injuries; sudden unexplained death in infants; paediatric conditions; paediatric trauma; paediatric resuscitation including foreign body airway obstruction and airway management; legislation around children; gynaecological emergencies. |
