Aims of Module
To facilitate the student to deliver essential generic clinical and therapeutic skills to deliver core and essential care across the lifespan.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Demonstrate a range of essential clinical and therapeutic skills in a simulated environment.
2 Demonstrate underpinning knowledge relevant to a range of clinical and therapeutic skills.
3 Apply safe and effective principles in relation to clinical and therapeutic skills.

Indicative Module Content
Students will develop their clinical and therapeutic skills with reference to the NMC Essential Skills Clusters - Care, compassion and communication; Organisational aspects of care; Infection, Prevention and control; Nutrition and fluid management; and Medicines management in the context of lifespan. The clinical skills taught in the module will be updated each year in line with contemporary practice and communication with our Partners in Practice. The up-to-date list of skills will be available in the dynamic syllabus.
