On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Outline the care interventions that can be used for a range of common health problems associated with children and young people. |
2 | Demonstrate understanding of a range of nursing skills to inform future learning opportunities in practice. |
3 | Utilise problem solving abilities in relation to children and young people's health and wellbeing. |
4 | Utilise best available evidence to inform holistic nursing care. |
Indicative Module Content |
---|
Nutrition through childhood, primary survey and interventions e.g. airway managment in childhood; basic psychological interventions; School nursing interventions, challenges and issues in pain management for children and young people; Challenges and issues for communication with children and young people; Problem solving in relation to children and young people's nursing; Challenges and issues with regards to ethics, consent, care planning; Neonatal care; Learning disability; Wellbeing in relation to childhood. |
