On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Explain the epidemiology and aetiology of a range of common physical and mental health problems in acute/unscheduled and long terms conditions. |
2 | Outline the pathophysiology and psychopathology and related clinical features of common physical and mental health conditions. |
3 | Discuss key pathophysiological processes related to common physical and mental health problems. |
4 | Apply knowledge of pharmacological interventions in the management of common physical and mental health problems. |

Epidemiology, aetiology, pathophysiology and psychopathology in related common physical and mental health problems - cardiovascular, endocrine, genetic, immune, infection, gastrointenstinal, haematological, hepatic, musculoskeletal, neurologic, oncological, renal, respiratory, special senses, mental health disorders - anxiety, depression, addiction and substance misuse; Pharmacology; Polypharmacy; Virology, inflammation, necrosis; Learning disabilities, dementia. |
