Aims of Module | |||

To enable the student to gain professional confidence and demonstrate safe, woman centred midwifery care with indirect supervision where appropriate. |
Learning Outcomes for Module | |

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Demonstrate professional behaviour in maternity care. |
2 | Demonstate confidence as an effective communicator with women, their families and members of the multi-professional team. |
3 | Demonstrate confidence and competence in undertaking skills as specified within the RGU Midwifery Skills Passport. |
4 | Apply relevant knowledge underpinning midwifery care. |
5 | Provide woman centred care which engages women, promotes normality and assesses risk within a range of contexts. |

ADDITIONAL NOTES |
---|
This is a clinical practice module. The student will undertake 37.5 hours per week in practice settings for normally 22 weeks (Full time) or normally 17 weeks (Flexible Route). These will span a variety of midwifery practice placements. |
