Aims of Module
To enable the student to apply the theoretical knowledge and skills into the practice environment in accordance with HCPC standards, with an emphasis on operating safely in any environment.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Demonstrate professional and ethical aspects of care in accordance with HCPC standards.
2 Perform basic assessment and initial patient management in accordance with HCPC standards.
3 Plan and deliver care in accordance with HCPC standards.
4 Show evidence of personal and professional development throughout the placement.
5 Identify potential challenges to personal resilience.

Indicative Module Content
Personal and professional development; ethical practice; initial patient assessment, planning and delivery of safe out of hospital care; out of hospital care skills; reflective models and using reflection; health and safety of self, other members of staff and patient; using evidence based practice.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
During NU1999 the student will complete 375 placement hours. In total for Stage 1, 750 hours will be completed during modules NU1995, NU1996 and NU1999.
