Aims of Module
To enable the student in the context of caring for the older adult and individual with a learning disability, to develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills to provide safe and effective person and family centred collaborative care.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Outline the characteristics of therapeutic, professional and interprofessional relationships necessary to achieve person and family centred care within practice.
2 Explain the importance of professional knowledge, ethics, values and attitudes in relation to becoming a professional nurse.
3 Describe the relevance of reflection in relation to continuous lifelong learning.
4 Use relevant information literacy skills to identify a range of evidence that can be used to deliver effective nursing care for the older adult or an individual with a learning disability.
