Aims of Module | |||

To enable the student to establish themself personally and professionally, by demonstrating safe, woman centred midwifery care with supervision. |
Learning Outcomes for Module | |

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Demonstrate professional behaviour in practice. |
2 | Use effective communication skills with women, their families and members of the multi-professional team. |
3 | Demonstrate competence in undertaking skills as specified for Stage 1 within the NMC Essential Skills Clusters (ESCs) and RGU Midwifery Skills Passport. |
4 | Identify relevant knowledge underpinning midwifery care. |
5 | Provide woman centred care which promotes normality and acknowledges risk within a range of contexts. |

ADDITIONAL NOTES |
---|
This is a clinical practice module. The student will undertake 37.5 hours per week in practice settings for normally 21 weeks (Full Time) or normally 16 weeks (Flexible Route). These will span a variety of midwifery practice placements. |
