Aims of Module | |||
---|---|---|---|
To enable students to engage in a critical understanding and evaluation of the process of international law and its approach to contemporary global challenges, global governance, the institutions of global governance, and the relations with various actors – State actors, Regional entities and Non-state Actors. |
Learning Outcomes for Module | |

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Critically examine and evaluate the process of international law-making and the construct of the international regulatory environment. |
2 | Critically appraise Westphalian notions of international law and global governance in comparison with 21-st century global realities of international institutions and their powers. |
3 | Critically engage with contemporary themes of global challenges, global governance and international relations. |
4 | Critically examine the nature and function of existing global governance institutions and other non-state actors concerning their relations with states. |
5 | Apply the concepts of international law and global governance, to current global challenges. |
