Aims of Module
To enable students to engage in a critical understanding and evaluation of the process of international law and its approach to contemporary global challenges, global governance, the institutions of global governance, and the relations with various actors – State actors, Regional entities and Non-state Actors.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Critically examine and evaluate the process of international law-making and the construct of the international regulatory environment.
2 Critically appraise Westphalian notions of international law and global governance in comparison with 21-st century global realities of international institutions and their powers.
3 Critically engage with contemporary themes of global challenges, global governance and international relations.
4 Critically examine the nature and function of existing global governance institutions and other non-state actors concerning their relations with states.
5 Apply the concepts of international law and global governance, to current global challenges.

Global Constitutional Law; The United Nations - UN Organs & Agencies; Other Intergovernmental Organisations & International NGOs; Regional Entities; Other Non-State Actors - Business Entities, Religious Entities, & Global Civil Society; Contemporary Global Themes and Challenges; International Law & Foreign Policy - State Relations with States and with International Institutions; International Law & Foreign Policy - State Relations with Non-state Actors; The dichotomy of Sovereignty and Globalisation; Revision
