Aims of Module
To enable students to develop an advanced knowledge and understanding of the legal issues which arise and are dealt with the administration of construction contracts.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Recognise, evaluate and discuss the core obligations of the employer, contractor and core professions in a construction project
2 Appraise and apply important regulatory and/or legislative requirements in the construction industry
3 Identify evaluate and critically assess key matters arising during the course of a construction contract

Indicative Module Content
This module will cover the key legal issues which arise through the administration of a construction contract as it is being developed, including Health and Safety; the Employer s Obligations including payment, Contractor s obligations and Professional team obligations (including certification).
