Aims of Module
To provide the student with an ability to analyse the the role of the police and to evaluate the theory and practice of prosecution and sentencing.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Assess the structures, functions and performance of the police service.
2 Analyse the process of public prosecution in the public interest.
3 Critically evaluate the theory and practice of sentencing and the prison system.
