Aims of Module
To enable students to obtain a knowledge and understanding of the main principles of property law.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Explain the main principles of Scots property law.
2 Analyse key issues relating to the principles of property law.
3 Apply the principles of property law to practical situations.

Indicative Module Content
The Nature and Classification of Rights in Property; Ownership; Original Acquisition; Derivative Acquisition of Corporeal Moveable Property; Rights in Security; Possession; Incorporeal Property; Human Rights and Property; Introduction to Trusts - their nature and classification.

Module Delivery
This is a lecture and tutorial based module. Lectures provide core module content. Tutorials develop associated higher level skills through student centred learning.
