Aims of Module
To enable students to obtain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of property rights affecting land together with relevant legal skills.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the principles of landownership rights.
2 Analyse key issues relating to the principles of the main landownership rights.
3 Apply the principles of landownership rights to practical situations.

Indicative Module Content
Basic concepts of property law; landownership; requirements of writing; the property registers; title conditions; leases; public rights over land and water; positive prescription.

Module Delivery
This is a lecture and tutorial based module. Lectures provide core module content. Tutorials develop associated higher level skills through student centred learning.
