Aims of Module
To demonstrate application of key skills required to collect, analyse and present data within a defined professional context.
Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

Critically review the skills required to undertake data collection and analysis within the specific paradigms relevant to the field of study providing a rationale for the chosen method(s).

Evaluate the process of establishing validity, reliability and/or creditability of the proposed data collection and analysis methods.

3. |
Appraise, extract and synthesise evidence from qualitative and quantitative studies within the selected professional field.

Indicative Module Content
Develop data analysis skills congruent with the philosophical underpinning of chosen research design; critical appraisal of selected data collection methods and analysis for qualitative and quantitative research; understand systematic reviews, meta-analysis and meta-synthesis and their impact on evidence-based practice; qualitative research, quantitative research, interview techniques, questionnaire design.

| Mode of Delivery
This module will be delivered in a one week block. Delivery will use a Blended Learning approach consisting of lectures, seminars and workshops during the teaching week.
