| On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
| 1 | Independently execute a detailed research study in a specific area relevant to the field of psychoanalytic psychotherapy. |
| 2 | Critically evaluate relevant literature, concepts and theories and data (primary or secondary) relevant to the field of psychoanalytic psychotherapy. |
| 3 | Synthesise evidenced based arguments to inform professional practice. |
| 4 | Critically evaluate and reflect on any ethical implications or issues encountered while conducting the research study. |
| 5 | Critically evaluate findings and conclusions in relation to the advancement or contribution to the body of knowledge in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. |
| Indicative Module Content |

| Synthesis and integration of critical aanalysis of literature, critical discrimination between, and reasoned choice of, different research methodologies for different purposes, ethical issues in research, data collection and analysis. |

| Problem solving tutorials, seminars. Each student will be allocated a project supervisor from whom (s)he will recieve tutorial support and relevant advice. The meetings will be initiated by the student and the supervisor will act as a facilitator |
