Aims of Module
To equip individuals to identify and lead innovation that aligns with strategic goals within health and social care in a post-Covid, 21st century environment where balancing sustainable performance and rapidly changing society, economy and technology will require the creation of an innovation culture.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Critically apply and discuss the concepts and approaches (tools & models) for innovation thinking to identify areas and processes where innovation would facilitate strategic objectives.
2 Critically evaluate a range of ideas and make compelling arguments for the optimal solution based on resources and desired outcomes.
3 Critically evaluate a range of ideas and make compelling arguments for the optimal solution.
4 Critically evaluate the relationship between the organisation and its stakeholder groups to identify the challenges to be addressed to enable successful implementation of change/innovation.

Indicative Module Content
An overview of innovation tools and models and the identification and validation of innovation ideas. Evaluation of innovation ideas against strategic goals and resources; skills for pitching ideas. Leading implementation; change management, stakeholder engagement, performance monitoring.

Module Delivery
The module is delivered through a combination of interactive online workshops (incorporating a mix of lecture content, case studies and group discussion) directed self-study (texts and online content) and applied project learning.
