This module aims to explore the role that epidemiology and research methods have in providing an evidence base for exercise, health and wellbeing activities and interventions. |

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Critically discuss the principles, methods and application of epidemiology in relation to exercise, health and wellbeing. |
2 | Critically discuss and synthesise exercise, health and wellbeing evidence and research. |
3 | Critically analyse and justify appropriate methods of assessing health, exercise and wellbeing activities. |
4 | Critically appraise research methodology and methods appropriate in the field of exercise and wellness. |

Principles and methods of epidemiology; epidemiology in exercise, health and wellbeing practice; quantitative research methods; qualitative research methods; validity; reliability; trustworthiness; research design; critical appraisal and synthesis of evidence; analysing evidence. |
