Aims of Module
The module aims to allow students to understand, appraise and apply behaviour change theories, models and tools in relation to exercise, health and wellbeing.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Critically appraise personal, social, environmental and cultural factors influencing exercise, health and wellbeing behaviours.
2 Critically discuss key concepts, principles and theories of behaviour change in relation to exercise, health and wellbeing.
3 Critically evaluate of exercise, health and wellbeing related behaviour change interventions.
4 Justify the application of behaviour change models, theories and tools in relation to exercise, health and wellbeing.

Indicative Module Content
Psychosocial barriers to exercise, health and wellbeing; Self-Determination Theory; Achievement Goal Theory; Theory of Planned Behaviour; Trans-theoretical Model of Behaviour Change; Motivation Interviewing; Goal Setting; Behaviour Change Wheel; Behaviour Change Techniques; Reflective Practice.
