Aims of Module | |||
---|---|---|---|
This module will allow students to develop a critical understanding of sport-specific athlete monitoring systems and procedures and how to effectively present relevant information to decision makers in sport. |
Learning Outcomes for Module | |

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Critically discuss methods of athlete monitoring used in training and competition. |
2 | Critically analyse and effectively present data from a range of athlete monitoring systems for training and competition. |
3 | Quantify the reliability of athlete monitoring systems and processes and their ability to detect change. |
4 | Critically evaluate the use of data from a range of sources in the analysis of sports performance. |
Indicative Module Content |
---|
Time-motion analysis in sport; analysis of athlete tracking systems; GPS and accelerometer analysis of training and competition; monitoring and analysis of sport-specific physical and psychological variables; physiological monitoring; external sources of data relating to sports performance; reliability of data and sources. |
