Aims of Module
This module will allow students to develop a critical understanding of sport-specific athlete monitoring systems and procedures and how to effectively present relevant information to decision makers in sport.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Critically discuss methods of athlete monitoring used in training and competition.
2 Critically analyse and effectively present data from a range of athlete monitoring systems for training and competition.
3 Quantify the reliability of athlete monitoring systems and processes and their ability to detect change.
4 Critically evaluate the use of data from a range of sources in the analysis of sports performance.

Indicative Module Content
Time-motion analysis in sport; analysis of athlete tracking systems; GPS and accelerometer analysis of training and competition; monitoring and analysis of sport-specific physical and psychological variables; physiological monitoring; external sources of data relating to sports performance; reliability of data and sources.
