Aims of Module
To provide students with the opportunity to develop skills in planning a project of work to investigate an area of health or social care where innovation is required.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Justify the need for innovation/change in an area of practice/service delivery.
2 Critically discuss methods by which issues/problems could be investigated.
3 Critically debate issues associated with change management and how these can be overcome.

Indicative Module Content
Investigative methods; research methods; audit; change management; problem solving; reflection; stakeholders; policy drivers; quality improvement. Strategic planning versus operational planning, service development/change.

Module Delivery
Delivery will be based on directed study supported by tutorials, workshops and seminars delivered on-line or on-campus.
