Honours degree in Physiotherapy (or equivelant.)
Successful completion of HSM122 Introduction to Pharmacology or equivalent.

Aims of Module

The aim of the module is to enable the student to develop critical knowledge and understanding of the pharmacology associated with medications commonly used in spasticity management in relation to physiotherapy and their safe and effective application.

Learning Outcomes for Module

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

1. Appraise the pharmacological principles and theories underpinning spasticity management in physiotherapy practice.
2. Critically evaluate the pharmacological management of spasticity in physiotherapy practice.
3. Appraise the ethical, legal and professional implications of pharmacological management of spasticity in physiotherapy practice.
