Aims of Module

To evaluate occupational therapy theoretical models and their contribution and value in relation to evidence based practice.


Learning Outcomes for Module

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

1. Critically review key theoretical models underpinning the theory and practice of occupational therapy.

2. Critically evaluate the application of a key theoretical model to demonstrate evidence based practice.

Indicative Module Content

Theories and models of occupational therapy practice eg Model of Human Occupation, Canadian Model of Occupational Performance.
Standardised assessments and outcomes measures.
Evidencing practice.
