Aims of Module

The aim of this module is to enable the student to explore the discipline of occupational science from its development to it's impact on contemporary occupational therapy practice.

Learning Outcomes for Module

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

1. Explore the development of occupational science as an academic discipline.
2. Critically debate the application of occupational science to contemporary occupational therapy practice

Indicative Module Content

Occupational science, cultural and historical context. The relationship of occupation to health and well being in individuals and communities. Occupational perspectives of health, occupational risk factors.
