Aims of Module

To develop independence in the application of the research process and to integrate the use of the research process within clinical practice.

Learning Outcomes for Module

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

1. Demonstrate data handling and analysis skills through the
compilation and presentation of findings.
2. Interpret and make inferences from research findings.
3. Reflect upon the value of research in physiotherapy and the
implications for practice.
4. Disseminate research findings.

Indicative Module Content

Critical analysis of literature; use of library, indices and internet; recruitment of subjects; ethical issues; data collection, handling, analysis and interpretation, discussion, presentation and communication of findings.
