Registered therapy radiographer / oncology nurse with a minimum of two years post registration experience.

Aims of Module

The aim of this module is to support the practitioner in developing the knowledge and skills required to provide effective assessment and management of treatment induced side effects during external beam radiotherapy.

Learning Outcomes for Module

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

1. Critically appraise a range of measures used to assess treatment induced side effects during external beam radiotherapy.
2. Critically evaluate a range of interventions used to manage treatment induced side effects during external beam radiotherapy.
3. Demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning in the management of patients receiving external beam radiotherapy.

Mode of Delivery

This is a blended learning module which combines five weeks of online delivery with eight weeks of workbased clinical practice.
