| On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
| 1 | Critically appraise the ethical, legal and professional principles of image interpretation in radiology. |
| 2 | Critically review the principles and processes involved in the production of a radiographic report. |
| 3 | Critically evaluate appendicular skeletal images and provide a radiographic opinion of normal and abnormal appearances. |
| Indicative Module Content |

| Principles of reporting in radiography. Pattern recognition. Normal, abnormal and variant image appearances in plain radiography of the appendicular skeleton. Terminology to enable the production of a radiographer report of the appendicular skeleton. Radiographer reporting roles in mammography, ultrasound, CT and other specialist procedures and modalities. Ethical, professional and legal implications of radiographer reporting. Calculating sensitivity, specificity and accuracy. |
