Prerequisites for Module

Successful completion of all stage three modules of the BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography will normally be required.

Aims of Module

To enable the student to explore, analyse and gain appreciation of the nature of interdisciplinary working within Radiology services.

Learning Outcomes for Module

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

1. Analyse the individual and professional principles and values of Radiology interdisciplinary team members.
2. Critically evaluate the factors which impact upon the functioning of Radiology interdisciplinary teams.
3. Discuss clinical leadership and management within Radiology interdisciplinary teams.

Indicative Module Content

The nature of team working, coordination, communication and environments.
Professional values.
Clinical supervision frameworks.
Clinical leadership and management.
Radiology intendisplinary teams: diagnostic teams, interventional teams, trauma teams, social care teams, intensive care teams, theatre teams, primary care teams, medical, nursing and AHP teams.
Emergency services and major disaster planning.
Forensic and mortuary services.
Patient Liaison Groups and patient perceptions.
