The purpose of the module is to provide students with an understanding of the processes underpinning the control and learning of human movement

Indicative Module Content
Information processing; reaction time; attention and movement control; central and sensory contributions in motor control; multi-limb co-ordination; stages of learning; planning and initiation of movement; on-line programming; speed-accuracy trade-offs; organisation of practical skill acquisition training in relation to physical activity; frequency and form of augmented feedback. Motor learning and influencing factors to include - population, pathologies, external stimuli.Development stages of motor learning and movement control. Effects of ageing.
