Successful completion of all stage three modules of BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography, Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.

Aims of Module

To enable the student to explore the current issues influencing the professional woirking environment for allied health professionals and the services they provide.

Learning Outcomes for Module

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

1. Analyse current issues influencing the professional working environment within health and social care.
2. Critically evaluate the impact to service users and providers of issues influencing the professional working environment within health and social care.
3. Critically evaluate the impact to allied health professionals of issues influencing the professional working environment within health and social care.

Indicative Module Content

The team delivering the module will consider on an annual basis pertinent topics to include in the module e.g.

Health and social care policy
Legislation, government and professional policy
Social resonsibility
Modernisation and redesign of health and social care
Regulation of the allied health professions
Allied health professions policy
Workforce planning, professional development
International perspectives of health and social care
Quality agenda, standard setting, clinical governance, patient involvement,
Health and socal care economics, financial management.
