Prerequisites for Module

Practice Educators who are already or about to take students on placement.
A minimum of one year post-registration.

Aims of Module

To enable practice educators to explore the principles and concepts of practice based education amd learning.

Learning Outcomes for Module

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

1. Analyse the role and attributes of an effective practice educator
2. Discuss the learning theories that are appropriate for adult and professional learners
3. Critically evaluate the principles of assessment of performance in the practice setting
4. Plan, implement and facilitate learning in the practice setting and evaluate the impact to the learner.
5. Reflect on experience and formulate action plans to improve future practice.
