To provide students with a detailed, integrated and applied knowledge and understanding of pathophysiology of disease and its diagnosis. |

1 | Discuss the aetiology and pathophysiology of selected diseases. |
2 | Discuss the clinical investigation of selected diseases. |
3 | Evaluate and interpret relevant biochemical and medical data for selected diseases. |
Indicative Module Content |
---|
There will be a focus on topics where there is a nutritional aetiology or where nutritional or diet therapy has a role. Introduction to systems disease; overview of pathology, monitoring and diagnostic strategies. Aetiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment of selected genetic, and systems diseases (including, but not limited to, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, neurological, endocrine and immune), and cancer. |
