Prerequisites for Module

Successful completion of all stage two modules of the BSc(Hons)Diagnostic Radiography will normally be required.

Aims of Module

The aim of this module is to enable the student to develop clinical knowledge and skills in trauma radiography. In addition the elective nature of this module aims to facillitate development of organisational and planning skills.

Learning Outcomes for Module

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

1. Demonstrate organisation and planning skills in arrangement of the elective placement.
2. Demonstrate the professional behaviours, conduct and attitudes required in an accident and emergency environment.
3. Discuss a range of accident and emergency radiography procedures and associated patient care requirements.

Mode of Delivery

This module consists of an elective placement where the student arranges to undertake a 6 week (210 hours) period of clinical placement in an accident and emergency department of their choosing.
