Aims of Module

To enable the student to apply knowledge and skills in the work setting.
To enable the student to develop interpersonal and organisational skills.

Learning Outcomes for Module

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

1. Independently organise a sufficient range of practical learning opportunities.
2. Interact effectively and responsibly with clients, managers and other staff in the workplace.
3. Apply and justify a range of interventions agreed with the provider.
4. Reflect on interventions.
5. Critically appraise interventions with reference to published literature.

This module will be assessed by portfolio. The portfolio will demonstrate that all learning outcomes have been achieved.

Additional Notes

Students will be responsible for arranging learning opportunities in the workplace. Various models of work based learning will be possible through agreement with the School Placement Co-ordinator.
Arrangements for learning opportunities will commence one year before the placement module. There will be timetable sessions throughout the year in which students will have the opportunity to discuss the progress of these arrangements with the Placement Co-ordinator.
