Aims of Module
The aim of the module is to develop the student's knowledge and understanding of the physical and operating principles of a range of imaging modalities.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Describe the structure, safety and operating principles of a range of imaging technologies.
2 Explain the principles and applications of quality assurance within Radiography

Indicative Module Content
CT, MRI, Ultrasound and Radionuclide Imaging. Dental Imaging, Theatre Imaging and Mammography. Equipment and technologies - mobile, mammography, dental, MRI, CT, RNI, fluoroscopy. Digital imaging, aquisition, processing, manipulation and storage. Quality assurance testing and image reject analysis.

Blended learning - Lectures, tutorials and practical sessions with directed and private study.

Module Grade Minimum Requirements to achieve Module Grade:
A Above 70% in the examination
B 60% to 69% in the examination
C 50% to 59% in the examination
D 40% to 49% in the examination
E 30% to 39% in the examination
F 29% or less in the examination
NS Non-submission of work by published deadline or non-attendance for examination

Module Requirements
Prerequisites for Module Successful completion of all Stage One CertHE Radiographic Studies modules (or equivalent) will normally be required.
Corequisites for module None.
