Keywords Anatomy, gastro-intestinal (GI) system, physiology, pathology, radiology, reproductive system, urinary system and reproductive system, contrast agents. |
|
Prerequisites for Module
Successful completion of the level 1 modules on BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography will normally be required.
Corequisite Modules
None.
Precluded Modules
None.
Aims of Module
The aim of this module is to provide the student with the necessary knowledge of GI, Urinary and Reproductive systems to enable the student to perform routine imaging procedures of these systems.
Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1. |
Develop a detailed knowledge of the normal and variant anatomical and physiological appearances of the GI, urinary and reproductive systems.
|
2. |
Describe the radiographic examinations of the GI, urinary and reproductive systems, including relevant indications, contra-indications and care of the patient.
|
3. |
Evaluate radiographic images of the GI, urinary and reproductive systems relating these to the management of the patient.
|
4. |
Develop a detailed knowledge of contrast agents and their administration to the patient.
|
Indicative Module Content
Anatomy, physiology and pathology of the GI, urinary and reproductive systems. Radiographic techniques for imaging these systems including specialist imaging modalites as appropriate.
