On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Explain the shared ethical and professional values within uniprofessional and inter-professional teams in health and social care. |
2 | Demonstrate awareness of legislation, standards, policy and guidelines relevant to practice. |
3 | Understand safe and practical application of health and safety skills required for governance within the practice environment. |
4 | Explain the role of identified professionals in the provision of person centred care. |
5 | Demonstrate an active approach to academic and professional developmental needs. |
Indicative Module Content |
---|
Professional, statutory and regulatory guidance, legal and ethical guidelines, professional values and behaviour, personal and professional resilience, safe and responsible use of social media. Team working, team roles, leadership, interdisciplinary and interagency working. Learning: Academic writing, study skills, principles of education theory, adult learning, continuing professional development, inter professional learning, reflective practice and the reflective cycle, portfolio development, digital literacy, sourcing literature, research paradigms, research designs, research terminology, descriptive statistics. Practice setting: Informed consent, communication skills, methods and styles, accurate record and document keeping, General Data Protection Regulations, confidentiality, H&S legislation, risk assessment and management, moving and handling, fire regulations, human factors, adult and child protection, infection control policies and procedures, recognising and managing violence and aggression in the workplace, adult basic life support, equity, diversity and ethnicity, ehealth, use of equipment appropriate to the practice setting. |
