Aims of Module
To provide the student with an understanding of normal anatomy and physiology of the human body.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Identify and describe the anatomy of the systems of the body.
2 Describe the position and orientation of major structures in the body.
3 Describe the physiology of the systems of the body.
4 Relate the structure and the functions of the systems of the body.

Indicative Module Content
Anatomical terminology. Cells and tissues. Axis and planes. Anatomy and physiolgy of the cardiovascular, nervous, respiratory, digestive, endocrine, urinary, lymphatic, reproductive and musculo-skeletal systems. Bones and joints. Vessels and pathways of vessels through the body. Lymph nodes and lymphatic vessels throughout the body.
