Aims of Module
To provide the student with the ability to begin to apply radiotherapy practice within a designated placement and to develop professional skills and attitudes. The module will introduce the student to the treatment of single field and parallel opposed radiotherapy techniques.

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

Use appropriate clinical skills in the delivery of a range of single field and parallel opposed radiotherapy treatment techniques.

Indicative Module Content
This practice-based module will include experiential learning involving supervised practice, professional discussion and reflective activities which involve linking theory with practice. This will include observation of clinical practice followed by supervised practice in the treatment of single field and parallel opposed radiotherapy treatments.

Mode of Delivery
This is a practice based module. Each student will undertake 35 hours per week in the nominated clinical imaging department for a period of 6 weeks, this will equate to approximately 210 contact hours.
